Robe :
Belle couleur cerise aux reflets brillants, accompagnée de larmes très denses.
Nez :
Complexe, fin et délicat, sur des petits fruits rouges macérés, comme la myrtille, la framboise mêlée d’épices douces, avec une petite pointe de garrigue en finale.
Bouche :
Attaque souple qui évolue rapidement sur une très grosse amplitude, où l’équilibre entre les tanins et la chair du vin est parfaite. La finale est tout en puissance sur des notes épicées et chaudes.

'Medium red-ruby. Roasted plum, currant and minerals on the nose. Lush and smooth, but currently showing minty, menthol suggestions of austerity. Less concentrated than the best examples from this excellent vintage. Today the Gigondas offers more character.' (87-90)

(60% grenache, the rest syrah and mourvèdre) ' Deep red. Liqueur-like aromas of redcurrant, mint, mocha, garrigue and leather. Thick and lush but nicely focused and penetrating. Spicy and long on the back end, with the supple, well-buffered tannins spreading over the tongue. Jaboulet has produced an excellent set of Southern Rhône wines in '98.' (91)

'Medium red. Cherry, red berries, tobacco and iron on the nose. Supple, soft and easygoing, with modest real nuance but sneaky flavor intensity. Leather and smoke notes carry through on to the smouth finish. A silky, elegant style of Chateauneuf, showing a bit more generous today than it did a year ago just after bottling.' (88)
