Robe :
Rubis soutenue, d'une belle brillance aux reflets violets avec de belles larmes.
Nez :
Fin et racé, d'une grande complexité, dévoilant la Syrah dans toute sa finesse, sur des notes de petits fruits rouges très mûres, mêlé d'épices délicates.
Bouche :
Puissante et chaleureuse, avec des tanins très nobles, ponctuée par une belle fraîcheur en finale.

'Deep ruby-red. Highly aromatic nose of red fruits, flowers, pepper and spices. High-pitched and intensely flavored, with good texture for the vintage, but currently shows a bit of a dip in the middle. Finishes with good ripeness and length. Jaboulet did a longer, cooler fermentation for this wine in 2000: the total cuvaison was 31 days, vs. 22 for the '99, according to Jacques.' (87-90)

Rubis brillante et limpide, avec de belles larmes.
Nez :
D’une grande complexité, avec une explosion de petits fruits rouges acidulés mêlés d’épices douces d’une grande finesse, évoluant sur des notes florales d’Iris et de Pivoine.
Bouche :
Structurée chaude et bien équilibrée, avec des tanins d’une grande noblesse, épaulés par une bonne acidité avec une finale longue et tout en finesse.

'Le nez mû et minéral se révèle d'une très grande finesse aromatique, sur les fleurs blanches, l'amande, les noyaux de fruit, avec une note de cire à bois. La bouche riche, grasse, s'avère d'une très grande belle amplitude. Ce vin ambitieux, net et racé, est entièrement issu de marsanne.'

'Ruby-red. Soil-inflected aromas of redcurrant, plum, humus and smoke, along with an intriguing vegetal complexity. Silky, thick, seamless and very concentrated; not quite as clear today as the Thalabert but this has even more material, even if its flavors appear to be a bit less primary. Suggestion of beefsteack tomato. Fine tannins are buried by the wine's sheer material.' (90)
