2000
'Less saturated ruby-red. Cherry, herbs and a minty note on the nose. Less massive than the Vacqueyras but juicy and perfumed in the mouth. This was recently pumped and should gain in density during its final months of elevage Finishes firmly tannic and persistent, with lovely aromatic quality.' (88-90)

Robe :
Couleur rubis foncé profonde, avec une belle vinosité.
Nez :
Bonne intensité aromatique de fruits noirs, comme la mûre, la myrtille, qui évolue après aération sur des notes de fruits macérés, et de noyaux de cerises.
Bouche :
L'attaque est franche avec un bel équilibre, entre l'acidité et l'alcool.
La fin de bouche est ferme, des tanins encore bien présents, et une finale avec beaucoup de relief et de puissance.

'Deep ruby-red. Roasted black cherry on the nose. Rich, supple and chocolatey in the mouth, with modest nuance today. Best right now on the persistent finish, which features big, chewy tannins. Jaboulet decided against making Châteauneuf du Pape in '99, said Laurent, 'because the stuff for sale was awful'. (87-88)

Dark red. Almost port-like aromas of roasted red fruits and dark chocolate. Quite smooth in the mouth but still rather unforthcoming. Seems more than a year older than the 2000 and less fresh in the middle palate. Finishes with lightly drying tannins and an earthy nuance. (88)

'Full red-ruby. Deep aromas of roasted cherry, pepper, gunpowder, game and animal fur; very granache. Fat, generous and sweet; rich, seamless and full in the mouth. Jaboulet bought a load of Gigondas in '98 due to the high quality of the crop. Finishes with thick, dusty tannins and impressive length.' (88-89)

'A sturdier, spicier wine. A touch of tabac here. Slightly hot at the end. Full, rich and tannic. But I find the two wines above, though not as concentrated, more attractive. From 2003.'
