DESCRIPTION
History:
The name of this vineyard comes from the craggy, erosion-worn mountain which shelters the vineyard. The Appellation Gigondas was awarded by decree in 1971.
Soil:
Composed of stony red clay alluvium and wide terraces.
Grape Variety:
80% Grenache ; 10% Syrah ; 10 % Mourvèdre.
Age of the vines:
40 years.
Vinification:
Traditional with long vatting..
Ageing:
6 months in oak casks.
Yield:
35 hl/ha.

Deep ruby colour.
Bouquet:
Aromatic nose with red fruits developing into notes of macerated fruits.
Palate:
Straightforward attack, with strong tannins, finishes with great depth and strength.

Shoulder of roast lamb with thyme flowers
Serving Temperature:
15° to 18°.
