DESCRIPTION
History:
Cornas “Les Grandes Terrasses” owes its name to the extremely steep terraces supported by small walls overlooking the Rhône Valley.
Soil:
The estate is located on decomposed granite called “gore”.
Grape Variety:
Syrah.
Age of the vines:
10 to 60 years.
Vinification:
Destemmed, crushed and controlled alcoholic fermentation and temperatures. Vatting over 3 to 4 weeks.
Ageing:
12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which is new wood.
Yield:
30 to 35 hl/ha.

Colour:
Deep ruby with a violet hue.
Bouquet:
Red and black fruits, spices and a touch of liquorice.
Palate:
Tannic and full-bodied.
Matching Food and Wine:
Jugged hare with fresh pasta
Mallard Suprême with pears
Veal kidneys with marrow
Serving Temperature:
16° to 18°.
Best enjoyed within:
From 5 to 15 years.
