Every year, a wine is born from the vineyards of Paul Jaboulet; a wine with a character that is shaped by nature, the sun and the rain.
This is what makes our wine unique every year. Vintage by vintage, we invite you to discover what our vineyards provide us with.

2000
Medium red. Somewhat diffuse aromas of red fruits, game and woodsmoke. Tight and a bit tart in the mouth; I don't find much sweetness or concentration here. This has absorbed its 50% new oak rapidly. (85-87)

Robe :
Couleur rubis profonde avec une belle brillance
Nez :
'Deep ruby-violet. Cool, pure, aromas of cassis, blackberry , violet and mint. Intensely flavored, elegant and pure; spicy black fruit flavors are currently tightly wrapped. Extremely primary wine but already stylish. The firm tannins come quite late, and the finish is subtle and long.' (89-91)

Deep red-ruby. Ripe, expressive aromas of smoked meat, leather and animal fur. Sweet but still tightly wound and firm; offers very good intensity and structure but is not yet especially sweet. Finishes with toothdusting tannins and good length. (89)

1998
'Ruby red. Aromatic nose of plum, currant, roasted herbs, woodsmoke and pepper. Less dense and sweet than the Cornas bottlings, and thus comes across as a bit harder today, more in the '98 style. Notes of pepper, leather, iron and brown spices. The wine's firm acids and tannins have not yet come into complete harmony, leaving the finish with a slight toughness.' (88)

“Ample and ripe.lovely succulent fruit. Full body. Some tannin. Quite marked by the Viognier, yet only 2-4% (they think – the bought-in element is in this wine). This is rich and fat and more enjoyable. But it lacks both the zip and individuality for fine. From 2005.”
CLIVE COATES MW – 07/2000
1997
'Very deep, opaque ruby-purple. Exotic game, roasted meat, and chocolate aromas. Full-bodied palate with velvety tannins. Explosively flavored and complex. Drink now or later.' (92)
THE JOURNAL OF THE BEVERAGE TASTING INSTITUTE WINTER ISSUE 2000
“A lovely example of the vintage. Fullish body. Ripe, fresh and balanced. No hard edges. Nothing weal here. Rich and long and most impressive. From 2003.”
