DESCRIPTION
History:
Well before modern times, the trading port of Condrieu and its shipping activities allowed the wine of Condrieu to achieve distant acclaim via the river. Our Condrieu owes its name to the numerous little fishermen’s houses along the banks of the river Rhône, known as “cassines”.
Soil:
2 ha (plus purchased grapes) on the steep granite slopes overlooking the river.
Grape Variety:
Viognier.
Age of the vines:
10 to 20 years.
Vinification:
Bunches pressed whole; low temperature alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and partially in oak barrels.
Ageing:
20% in oak barrels, the rest in stainless steel tanks, then in bottles.
Yield:
35 hl/ha.

Colour:
Crystal clear colour with a greenish hue.
Bouquet:
Floral et fruité de violette, pêches, abricots.
Palate:
Well-rounded, with a rich, fresh final note.
Matching Food and Wine:
Drink as an apéritif
Hot foie gras pan-fried with mangos
Salad of langoustines with granny smith apples
Serving Temperature:
12 to 15°.
Best enjoyed within:
Around 3 years.
