2000
'Healthy pale yellow color. Reticent but complex nose melds white flowers, honeysuckle and mint. Dense and sweet but with impressive structure and grip. Quite backward today and in need of aging. Boasts an outsized frame for this wine. Very spicy and long on the aftertaste. Jacques Jaboulet compared this to the house's 1964 bottling.' (91(+?))

Robe :
Jaune paille aux reflets de jeunesse, et présentant des larmes très denses.
Nez :
D’une incroyable complexité et richesse aromatique, où se mêlent des arômes de poires mûres et de fleurs blanches.
Après aération, il évolue sur des notes subtiles de viennoiseries, de caramel, et délicatement miellé.
Bouche :
Ample, avec beaucoup d’onctuosité et de fraîcheur. La finale allie la puissance et la finesse.

'Le Chevalier de Stérimberg, avec sa robe d'un jaune paille profond se pare de reflets d'or. Le nez très mûr évoque les fruits confits, le miel, le caramel au lait, la vanille, avec des notes de fruits secs. Long et persistant, ce vin offre une bouche généreuse, puissante, grasse et de grande classe.'

'Deep aromas of honey, nuts and spicy oak, plus a slight leesy complexity. Ripe and sweet but quite suave and light on its feet. Bright and fruity. Long, perfumed back end. This is 14% alcohol and finished with less than a gram per liter residual sugar, but it is neither heavy nor excessively dry.' (91)

'Remarkable. Clean as a whistle, here is a restrained, subtle white delivering mineral, lemon and so-ripe fruit in a package that surprises and doesn't tire the palate. L'EXPANSION - SPÉCIAL VINS VALLÉE DU RHÔNE
'Il se caractérise par une robe d'un bel or intense, un nez d'intensité moyenne mais complexe, floral, avec des arômes de miel d'acacia et de gentiane, 'signe d'une très belle maturité des raisins' et 'marqué par un boisé qui demande à se fondre'. L'attaque en bouche se montre vive avec un superbe volume et beaucoup de richesse. On retrouve des 'notes beurrées et un gras intense'. Cette cuvée possède 'beaucoup d'ampleur et de générosité'. ' de grande tradition avec du caractère', elle nécessite une attente de huit à dix ans.'

'Drapé d'or pâle, ce vin s'ouvre sur un nez très fruité de pomme assez mûre et de prunelle, associé à un boisé très fin. De bonne densité et de belle finesse, la bouche de ce vin bien fait se montre d'un équilibre très classique.'

'Fat, voluptuous and slightly oxidised on the nose. Honeyed and just a touch oaky on the palate. Rather overblown. Not for me. Strange in this vintage, not to have a firmer acidity. Drink soon.'
